On May 18, 2022, SCP Consultants Pte Ltd. won the public tender on "Research on the Development and Layout of Nanning Port-suitable Industries in the Pinglu Canal Economic Belt" project. The Nanning Development and Reform Commission hopes to plan a top-level strategy and development path for the development of Nanning's port-friendly industry through cooperation with SCP, promote the integrated development of "port, industry, city and sea", boost the development of the Pinglu Canal Economic Belt, and progress toward prosperity and strength.

The project will cover three major sections: background research on the construction of the Pinglu Canal Economic Belt, research on the selection and development of Nanning's port-suitable Industries, and the spatial layout of Nanning's port-suitable Industries. Including in-depth study of macro opportunities of Pinglu Canal, analyse the internal and external conditions for the development of Nanning's port-appropriate industries, case reference of successful regions, scientifically prediction of development trend, optimize the industrial system suitable for Nantong port, identify the core area, to improve the regional competitiveness and international influence of the industry.

Under the new opportunity of the development of the Pinglu Canal Economic Belt, speeding up the development and construction of suitable industries for the port is a major measure for Nanning to integrate into the development pattern of seaward economy at a higher level. It possesses far-reaching historical and great strategic significance.
